APPLIED EARTH OBSERVATIONS
INNOVATION PARTNERSHIP
BIOGRAPHY
U.S. Department of Interior (DOI)
Dr. Miller enjoys solving real-world problems at the intersections of remote sensing, fire science, wetlands, and environmental modeling. For the last twenty years, she has been developing analytical tools to support land management decision-making by integrating remote sensing and environmental modeling. Current projects include a NASA SmallSat project to map coastal wetlands using remote sensing and hydrological modeling to map connectivity, developing erosion modeling tools to guide post-fire remediation, creating a physically-based model for predicting dry ravel after wildfires, and forecasting post-fire effects for fuels planning on a watershed scale. Dr. Miller is also proud to serve on the Department of Interior National Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) team.
