Location: USFS Geospatial Technology and Applications Center (GTAC), Bennett Federal Building, Salt Lake City, UT

Goals & Expected Outcomes:

  • Link NASA data products to USFS, USGS, and other agencies’ management needs.

  • Highlight NASA Earth Science missions and give science and applications updates to inform land monitoring agencies on the science and capabilities of NASA data to inform their decisions and address their data needs.

  • Identify how we get these NASA products into users’ hands.

  • Identify data needs, gaps, and challenges of the NASA products user community.

  • Identify positive aspects of remote sensing data for land management agencies, as well as the next priority and scientific advancements that could contribute towards achieving the agencies’ goals.

  • Compile testimonials from stakeholders about the societal benefits of NASA remote sensing data.

  • Measure level of learning from this workshop with pre and post community surveys.

  • Develop a publication on the results and findings from the discussions of the workshop.
